Our approach

How a project runs, from first conversation to ongoing support

Seven stages. The order matters less than the principle behind it: decide the expensive things early, and get something usable into your hands before the budget is spent.

  1. Discovery and requirement analysis

We learn how the work is done today — including the workarounds, because those usually reveal the real requirement. We identify the users, the constraints, the systems already in place and the outcome that would make the project worthwhile.

You receive: Written requirement summary and agreed success criteria

  2. Planning and solution design

We decide the architecture, the data model and the integrations, then break the work into releases. The first release is chosen to solve the most expensive problem rather than to cover every feature.

You receive: Solution outline, scope, release plan and estimate

  3. UI/UX design and prototyping

We map the user journey, wireframe the key screens and build a clickable prototype. Putting the primary flow in front of a real user at this stage is far cheaper than discovering a problem after it has been built.

You receive: User flows, wireframes, high-fidelity screens and a prototype

  4. Development and integration

We build in short cycles with working software you can see at the end of each one. Integrations with existing systems and third-party services are done as the features land, not saved until the end.

You receive: Working increments in a staging environment

  5. Testing and quality assurance

We test functionality, responsive behaviour across devices, access control, and the paths that carry money or personal data. Loading, empty and error states are checked alongside the ideal path.

You receive: Tested build, resolved defects and a review sign-off

  6. Deployment

We deploy to your cloud or hosting account with environment configuration, HTTPS, security headers, backups and error reporting in place. You own the infrastructure and the accounts.

You receive: Live system, deployment documentation and handover

  7. Maintenance and improvements

After launch we monitor, fix, update dependencies, and extend the product based on how it is actually being used. Most of a product's useful life happens in this stage.

You receive: Support arrangement and a prioritised improvement backlog

A note on estimates

We give estimates after discovery, not before it. An estimate made without understanding the integrations, the data and the edge cases is a guess, and a guess that turns out to be wrong costs both sides more than the time spent scoping properly. Where a project is genuinely uncertain, we will say so and suggest a short paid discovery phase so you can get a real number before committing to a build.
